EVERY VOICE MATTERS
Funding Resources
There are many agencies throughout Georgia that provide financial assistance for families!
If you have not already explored these options please be sure to do so. Many of our practitioners are active vendors and accept payment from these agencies.
Family Support Funding
Families can learn more about Family Support Funding at the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The application to apply for Family Support Funding can be found HERE. Once you are approved for Family Support Funding you can decide between Bobby Dodd and InCommunity to access funds for vendors. You will have to complete the applications for those agencies as well.
BDI offers a complete community-based system of services to support parents and caregivers of children with disabilities. We connect local families with federal resources, as well as intensive hands-on support for families in crisis. Bobby Dodd Institute provides Family Support (< $1500) and intensive Family Support (> $1500) funding for families to use for self direct pay to applicable vendors.
Family Support Funding assists families in obtaining goods and services necessary to ensure the best possible care for their loved one. Individuals 3 years of age and older who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability may be eligible.
A Medicaid waiver is money that may be used to pay for services for a person with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities. These services can take place in the person’s home or in the community. NOW and COMP are for eligible people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who require an intermediate care facility.NOW offers services and support to enable individuals to remain living on their own or in their family home and participate in the community.
COMP serves individuals with more intensive needs, primarily those with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who require residential care.
